Fr. Pio Estepa, SVD

Born in the Philippines (October 1951), PIO ESTEPA SVD was ordained a priest in 1978.  He was a ‘bush missionary’ in Congo from 1981-1984, and served as urban pastor in Mexico City (1995-1999) ─then in Melbourne, Australia (2000-2003).
He served as lecturer of sociology and missiology in the Pontifical Gregorian University [Rome, 1993-1995], Centro de Reflexión Teológica and Universidad Intercontinental [Mexico D.F., 1995-2000], Pacific Regional Seminary [Fiji, 2000], and Yarra Theological Union [Melbourne 2001-2003]. He presently alternates in teaching at the Catholic Theological Union (Chicago, Illinois) and the Divine Word College (Epworth, Iowa).
From 2003 to 2006 Fr. Estepa served as secretary general of the Society of the Divine Word, and from 2006 to 2012 as its mission secretary. Since November 2012, he is assigned as member of the SVD Chicago Province.
