"Being in the Society of the Divine Word has taught me how to reach out to people—to focus on common good," Fr. Nam said. "They enkindled me in that fire so I can be a light for others. I cannot imagine a better way of living my life."
Frs. Lan and Nam graduated with advanced degrees from Catholic Theological Union. During the past school year, they also served as deacons in Chicago parishes. Previously, they lived and worked in Argentina to fulfill the requirements of the Cross-cultural Training Program, which is an integral part of the Divine Word Missionaries’ formation process.

Fr. Lan’s first assignment will be in Paraguay while Fr. Nam will remain in the Chicago Province, assigned to St. Patrick, an intercultural parish in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
