You will not be turned away from Divine Word College Seminary for lack of money if you are seriously considering religious life as a Divine Word Missionary priest or brother and qualify as a student.

But it is a collaborative effort between you, your family and DWC.

A private college education is not free, but there are many sources of funding to help pay for your education. In fact, the mix of funding sources in each financial aid package is customized to fit the student’s need and ability to qualify for grants and loans, so each package can be as different as the student it supports.

It starts with you and your parents completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA):

• Go to https://studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-aid/fafsa to begin the application
• Organize your personal information—for both you and your parents—such as:
  • Social security numbers, birthdates, marriage date, previous year’s tax returns, W-2s and untaxed income as well as your driver license number and, if you are not a U.S. citizen, alien registration number.


• Complete the online FAFSA application at: https://studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-aid/fafsa
• Send a completed form to Divine Word College, using school code 001858
• Contact DWC Financial Aid: call 563-876-3353 ext. 220 or email: waechter@dwci.edu

Your FAFSA application determines your Expected Family Contribution (EFC), which is the amount you and your family provide. From there, the college will work with you to identify available federal, state and college funding.
