As you explore your relationship with God and decide if He is calling you to become a Divine Word Missionary priest or brother, you receive a broad-based liberal arts education, experience religious life and gain a new understanding of the world through the eyes of fellow students who come from as many as 17 countries. Many of our students, both men and women, are in vows and here to study English as a Second Language or pursue additional education or academic programs. Together, we offer a rich intercultural experience where you live, work, study, and pray with those of shared beliefs and diverse points of view.
Your days begin with Mass followed by classes during the week in well-equipped classrooms. You study in the relaxing Matthew Jacoby Library, in reading rooms or the computer lab. You meet weekly with your formation group where together you get a better understanding of religious life while you delve more deeply into your spiritual self with your spiritual director. You come to understand what it means to be a missionary through ministry outreach to those in need and through community service.
Healthy meals are prepared fresh three times daily. Monthly cultural dinners give students a chance to share a taste of their culture with fellow students.
We offer tutoring, counseling and medical help to support your success meeting your educational and formation goals. Opportunities for exercise and recreation are abundant through intramural sports, pick-up games in the gymnasium, and workouts in the fitness room. There is outdoor play on our soccer field, disc golf course and tennis courts or you can relax with a walk through our scenic park-like campus or through the peaceful town of Epworth.
Life is full at Divine Word College, developing a healthy mind, body and spirit as you discern your path to religious life.
